The Annual Fund: A Commitment to Excellence
For over 45 years, St. Ignatius Jesuit Retreat House has offered individuals the opportunity to explore their sense of spirituality and faith, and their relationship to God in a quiet, serene and bucolicsetting. Established by the New York Province of the Society of Jesus, the mission of St. Ignatius is to provide a structured, caring path for each person to discover, understand and ultimately strengthen
their faith-filled lives, while making a commitment
to themselves and those whose lives they touch.
Highlighted by an extensive and diverse array of
retreat programs and services – for individuals,
families, groups and students – St. Ignatius is a
vital and preeminent center for Ignatian spirituality
with the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola
at its core. St. Ignatius is an independent, tax-exempt
nonprofit corporation led by a volunteer Board of
Directors, and a staff comprised of lay, religious
and Jesuit clergy. We seek to strengthen our
mission and reputation by looking to those who
know the center best – its many retreatants,
program and workshop participants, and friends –
for the support and encouragement to reinforce its
spiritual heritage. One way each can have a lasting
impact on St. Ignatius Retreat House is to make a
gift to the 2012 Annual Fund. Through the
Annual Fund, all members of the Inisfada family
have the opportunity to invest in the legacy of
faith, hope and healing that is St. Ignatius Retreat
House.
Use of Gifts: Ensuring the Mission
The St. Ignatius Annual Fund provides an
important source of unrestricted support for
current operations. Program fees do not cover the
full cost of operations, and gifts to the Annual
Fund help St. Ignatius to offer a wide range of
retreats, programs and workshops at a reasonable
most to participants. Annual Fund contributions
help St. Ignatius to expand program topics and
frequency of delivery, extend financial aid, provide
staff with competitive salaries, and maintain and
improve our facilities.
The Goal: Providing for Spiritual Growth
Just as St. Ignatius Retreat House offers the
broadest range of opportunities to examine and
pursue Ignatian spirituality, we also established
an expansive goal for the growth of the Annual
Fund. The success of our efforts is dependent on
the continuing enthusiasm, interest and generosity
of those who know and care about St. Ignatius
– our extended Inisfada family. Your gift – together
with contributions from many others – salutes the
meaning and lasting importance of the St. Ignatius
experience, and will  help bring us closer to our
2012 Annual Fund goal of  $150,000.
Gift Opportunities: A Way for All to Participate

Help with Restoration

As you know St. Ignatius Retreat House is one of the premier estates on the North Shore of Long Islands magnificent gold coast. Many of these elegant mansions have been torn down through the years. The Jesuits have committed themselves to keeping the doors of St. Ignatius open to all. We do not charge admission, yet have the expenses of restoration. Perhaps you would consider a gift to our Building and Grounds Fund.

Here are some pictures of restoration underway on the main chapel. More photos of this resoration, our 3rd Floor project (updated for March 2004), and the front portico are available.

Please contact us for further information about any of these gifts or ways in which you might help to support St. Ignatius Retreat House.
