The Gift of Years

Monday, September 13. Seniors  meet bi-monthly. Thanks to a grant from the Greentree Foundation through the Manhasset Community Fund, St. Ignatius will be offering this program for Seniors aged 62 and over that will run twice a month from September 2010 to June 2011, from 9am-1pm. Presentations will be given by the Inisfada Ministerial Staff and will be based on the book The Gift of Years: Growing Old Gracefully  by Sr. Joan Chittister. The book will be for sale at the St. Ignatius Book Store. Light breakfast, fellowship, reflection, group sharing and lunch are all included. Fall Book Series – The Naked Now

Robert Kennedy, S.J., Roshi, is a Jesuit priest and Zen teacher in the White Plum lineage. He studied with Yamada Roshi in Kamakura, Japan, with Maezumi Roshi in Los Angeles, and with Glassman Roshi in New York. Glassman Roshi installed Kennedy as sensei in 1991 and conferred Inka (his final seal of approval) in 1997, making him a roshi (master). Kennedy Roshi is the author of Zen Gifts to Christians and Zen Spirit, Christian Spirit.

Directed Prayer Weekend – Silent

Friday, October 15, 2010 - Monday, October 17, 2010. Facilitated by the St.Ignatius Jesuit Retreat House Staff and Visiting Directors. This directed prayer weekend is an opportunity for you to focus on your prayer, spiritual life and relationship with God. Experience the peace, quiet and serenity of St. Ignatius Jesuit Retreat House in silence (first and last meals conversational).  Each person will meet daily with a spiritual director to share their personal experience in prayer and dialogue with God. Offering: $270 per person    Deposit: $ 100 non-refundable. Future Weekends: November 12-14 and December 3-5.

Massage and Reiki available on selected retreats at additional charge. Check in 5pm. You are welcome to join us at 4pm Mass Friday before checking in.
