In the late 1980s the great Jesuit theologian Karl  Rahner said that the greatest mystics of the church have yet to come forth. He was talking about you and me. Come join us as we explore this alluring, elusive and often misunderstood word “mystic” and how we are all called into this ever deepening relationship with our God.         Come to one in the series or all! Women’s Step 11 ~ The Spirirtuality of the 12 Step: a Journey of Love

Friday, October 22 – SAunday, October 24, 2010: For women in 12-step programs living with compulsive gamblers and other addicted persons. Presenter: Sr. Betsy O’Neill. Cost is per person.  $100 non-refundable deposit. $240pp private room, $190pp semi-private, $170pp commuter. Limited number of suites (private room with private bath) available at additional charge. Massage and Reiki available on selected retreats at additional charge. Check-in 5pm. You are welcome to join us at 4pm Mass on Friday before checking in. Relic of St. Margaret Mary and Devotion

August 19 – A relic of St. Margaret Mary Alocoque, founder of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, will be arriving to Long Island from France this August. Veneration of this relic will be offered at the St. Ignatius Retreat House on August 19.

Sunday, April 25  4pm-7pm. Honoring our Director of Ministerial Services, Karen Doyle, SSJ. This wonderful day begins at 4 PM with a concert performed by the the Manhasset High School Kinsmen. The concert will be followed by a Liturgy and supper. Sr. Karen has been the Director of Ministerial Services at the retreat house for the past 10 years and has been most influential in availing retreatants to the core of Ignatian Spirituality, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. She has more than 20 years experience as a Spiritual Director, Supervisor, Director of Directed and Guided Retreats, and in the Formation of Spiritual Directoes and Supervisors. Easter Triduum (Silent Retreat)

April 1-4. Presented by the St. Ignatius Retreat House Staff. Experience the beauty of the Sacred Liturgies in this Holy Space.  This retreat begins with a conversational Seder supper at 6:00pm on Holy Thursday, followed by silence and prayerful presentations until the reception after Easter Vigil. Ends Easter morning with sunrise Eucharistic Liturgy at 7:30 AM (optional)and breakfast at 8am. There will also be the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Fordham Alumni Retreat

March 19-21. “The Ongoing Work of Jesus: His Mission in Our Lives” This year’s retreat will be presented by Fr. Thomas Marciniak, SJ. Fr. Tom is currently the Administrator of the Jesuit Community at Loyola-Faber Hall, prior to which serving as Director of Campus Ministry at Lemoyne College in Syracuse for eleven years. He is an experienced retreat director and we are honored to have him leading our retreat this year. The retreat will begin Friday with dinner at 6:30 and will end Sunday with 11:15 mass followed by lunch at noon. Massage, reiki and reflexology will be available at an additional cost.
