Ecology and Ignatian Spirituality: How the Spiritual Exercises Address the Current Ecological Crisis
Wednesday, November 17, 2010 9:30am-4pm Presenter: Yvonne Prowse $60pp includes lunch
On Nov. 17, we’re going to look at Creation and today’s ecological crisis through the lenses of our faith and Ignatian Spirituality. We will reflect and pray over how God and earth are calling us to participate in the healing of the planet — our home — as part of God’s dream for the world.
Yvonne Prowse is a spiritual director with a recent Masters degree from Fordham University emphasizing spirituality and spiritual direction. Her thesis considered how the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius can help North Americans address the contemporary ecological crisis. Yvonne has worked extensively in social ministries with people in poverty, and in peace, justice and environmental ministry. As executive director of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps for the California Province of Jesuits she helped engage the organization and volunteers in awareness and action for the environment. She is an adjunct staff of St. Ignatius Retreat House.
